| Real Time Digital Printing Of The new AUTOPRINT® Freedom Printer is a single pen printer that uses standard HP thermal inkjet cartridges to print 1, 2, 3 or 4 lines of alphanumeric content with up to 84 characters per line. The Freedom Printer is ideal for printing variable information, including production lot, time and serial codes and use-by-dates on unit boxes and outer shipping cartons and cases. |

The Freedom Printer consists of a small printhead, an enclosed controller and an external power supply. The printhead has a standard HP pocket for standard HP 45 style cartridges and is connected to the controller by a 2-meter cable. This allows the printhead to be mounted near the items being printed while the controller is put in a convenient out-of-the-way location. The printhead is protected by a sturdy, metal ski. The controller has LED status indicators for power, sensor and encoder inputs, faults and ink consumption, including an optional low-ink warning. The sensor tells the controller when to start printing. Dot firing can be controlled by an internal clock or an external encoder. The encoder input will synchronize the system when the velocity of the substrate varies. The system is ESD hardened. |

Easy To Setup And Operate The printer is managed with AUTOPRINT Freedom software. The unit communicates on the serial port while actively printing. Text is double buffered to allow printing one string while down-loading the next. The unit can operate independent of the PC, and once there is text in the buffer, it will be printed each time the leading edge sensor is activated. The printer has a battery backed real time clock. Print content can include fixed alphanumeric data and variable macro specified information, such as date, serial number, and other information that changes on each print. Post dating the actual time/date is also possible. Mounts, product sensors and line encoders are available for use on conveying lines or the printer can be an OEM component that is integrated into a carton or case forming and filling system. |

| The Freedom Printer uses a wide variety of Hewlett-Packard TIJ inks, including standard black and spot colors red, blue, green and yellow for printing on porous corrugated cartons; versatile black for printing on coated chipboard boxes; and specialty UV inks for printing “hard to print” materials, such as flexible films, laminates and certain rigid containers made of plastic, glass or metal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
